If North Carolina legislators cut out their approval for Duke Energy, soon home and property owners will be able to rent their rooftops. They're looking for as many as 850 rooftops (in all kinds of buildings). This could be a 'model' for other energy cos. to follow.

Eligibility, per Duke Energy:
- You are a Duke Energy Carolinas customer located in North Carolina.
- You own the home or property.
- The roof being considered is five years old or less.
- The area being considered for solar panels is not shaded from the sun by trees or other obstructions.
